Rest in peace Michael . . .

As everyone knows I am sure, Michael Jackson has passed away. Listening to everyone focus on the craziness of his last few years has made me think a lot about my childhood. Probably because there were two things my sister and I were obsessed with while growing up. One was Dirty Dancing, the other was MJ's Thriller.

I had a behind the scenes making of the music video tape of Thriller, and I swear we used to watch it atleast 3 times a day! We knew every dance move, and I would listen to the cassette tape over and over and over! Some of my happiest childhood memories involve his music and talent, and that is very sad considering he didn't really have a childhood of his own.

I will admit I have made jokes over the last few years, but when someone dies it's different. I know he lived a tourtured and troubled life and I just hope he will finally have some peace and happiness now.

Kelly Jeanne (also why Billie Jean is one of my favs)

Hike w/ the fam

Invited the family along for a hike this week. I figured Connor would dig the animals at the farm and that my Dad would like the historic parts and cabins and such. Unfourtunately, I forgot that the farm is closed on Mondays. Oh ya, and it rained. oh well. got some cute pics out of the trip!

Married 32 years next month. Ya, I know. I'm one of those weird kids whose parents are still together . . .

He is just too frickin adorable!!!!

Saw this tree as we were leaving. I thought the way it framed that wooden arch was pretty cool.
Going camping tomorrow at Uvas County Park. Should do lots of hiking, will post when I get back! Here's hoping no mosquitos bite me or bears eat my food!!!

Sunnyvale Art & Wine Festival

Ok, so I know it took place on June 6th, but I'm a little behind, jeez!!
Anyways, made it out to Murphy St. for the A&W festival again! Always have to go to this one! I don't live in walking distance anymore, but Matthew and Sarah do ; ) Andy came over early and we went to Rancho for a hike before we sought out our wine. She got me to try out the more challenging PG&E trail. I was so sore the next day, but it was fun and I have added it to my routine. We did encounter a rattle snake though . . .

Edgar from work made it out too!

I am in love with this car! The color was even better in person!!!!

Of course, the DeLorean . . .

I am still in shock over this car! It was a porsche with DeLorean-like doors. So cool!!
I also finally ended up buying one of those flattened wine bottle-cheese plates! This is the third year in a row I have seen them and I finally decided to do it! I chose the Silver Oak one because that is actually the first winery I ever tasted at. I forgot to take a pic of it, I will put it up later (maybe, knowing me ha)
It was a good day : )

Heavy metal violins and Good Hustle Oh my!!! The Subzero Festival

Just wanted to post this video I took at the Subzero Festival last weekend in downtown San Jose. I forget the name of this band, but they were awesome! They are from Oakland and feature 2 brothers on the violin and cello, and another guy on the drums. Believe it or not, those are the ONLY three instruments played in this video! It really sounds like a bunch of guitars, but it's not! Check it out!

And of course, here is a video of The Good Hustle. My friend Liz's man plays the keyboards and sings, and they always put on a great show! Their show got cut a little short. Here is a video of one of their popular songs, I am brain-farting right now on what it's called. It's the theme song from some movie or TV show. You should recognize the melody. . .

Getting caught up . . .

Whew, I have been so busy that I am neglecting my blog!!! I am really into watching tv on my laptop, which keeps me from doing other stuff on it lol. Anyways, I am gonna try to get caught up on the last couple of weeks!

Started the second step of my nicotine patches, which means that I have 6 weeks under my belt. yay! Almost done with my cardigan, I will post pics when I'm done. I still need to pick out some buttons for it, but I usually can't do that until the piece is done cause it's to hard to visualize . . .

Just got back from Moraga. My friends Jenni and Coleman are moving into his Grandmother's house, and I was helping them paint. I am very proud of them! They were a little scared of going for color, but luckily they had me to help (anyone who saw my old house with Matthew gets that haha). We started on the master bed room, doing a focal wall in a deep blue and the other 3 walls in a lighter blue. We are then going to do the adjacent bathroom in the same deep blue. So excited! It looks great, and so far they are happy with it! I will post pics soon, Matthew has the camera this weekend for his sister's wedding. (Congrats Shannon and Justin!)

Been doing lots of hiking, trying to add in some jogging. Planning on going camping next weekend with a bunch of good friends!

I know I always say this, but I will try to post more often!!
